It’s spritz time!
The perfect match for an Italian hot summer evening is a Campari spritz with your friends.
Origins
The origin of this drink appears to trace back to the period of the Habsburg domination in the north of the peninsula. In fact, Austro-Hungarian soldier used to have their wine lightened with a splash (in German a "spritz") of water. In the years different liquors and flavors have been added but it’s only from the 60s that the mix we have today came to use.
The original ingredients are the following:
1/3 of Campari (or Aperol)
1/3 of Prosecco
1/3 of soda water
1 orange slice
Ice cubes
Mix them all together and let’s get the aperitivo started!
